Summer is one of the best times of the year to get outside and enjoy everything our community has to offer, and here in New Albany, we are fortunate to have some truly special places to explore.
I encourage you to spend time along the beautiful New Albany Shoreline and the Ohio River Greenway. Whether you’ re walking, biking, or simply taking in the view of the river, these spaces offer something for everyone. As you visit, you may notice work taking place at the former QRS Recycling Center. This is an exciting step forward as we prepare the site for additional greenspace, creating even more opportunities to connect with nature and expand our shoreline experience.
If you’ re looking to cool off, be sure to check out River Run Family Waterpark. This family-friendly destination is the perfect place to beat the summer heat, and a season pass is a great way to save while enjoying everything the park has to offer all summer long.
You can also visit Silver Street Park, where the splash pad provides a fun and refreshing way for kids and families to cool down and play. You may see some construction movement at
Silver Street Park this summer as we work on converting some of the fields to turf. This addition will extend the outdoor season and help us expand activities like soccer and our new Youth Lacrosse program.
