CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION ( AGES 8-12 ) The Chinese Lunar Calendar is 2,640 years older than ours and never begins on January 1 , nor does it begin on the same date each year . This year the Chinese New Year begins on January 29 and is the year of the Wood Snake . Children ages 8-12 are invited to join us to learn more about Chinese New Year .
